As well as offering staff training in care situations, Hearing Advisors are available and qualified to offer training session at TAFE colleges and other training institutions in a range of health and personal care training courses.

Training sessions include:-

• Understanding hearing loss and its effects on communication, life quality and safety and security

• Recognizing hearing loss

• Strategies for effective communication.

• Hearing aid use and care.

• Use of other assistive technology.

In addition, workplace training helps employers and employees:-

• Understand the implications of hearing loss in the particular workplace

• Make adjustments in workplaces.

• Improve communication strategies with people with a hearing loss

• Realize the importance of hearing conservation in Occupational Health and Safety

• Provide advice on hearing protection.

As with other services the training is provided in metropolitan and country locations.
